About Sherine

A wardrobe with a story to tell.

Cairo-born Sherine El Itreby founded SE Designs in March 2018. She draws most of the prints herself, inspired by her city's details and heritage, by nature, architecture and music, and every piece is made in Egypt.

Since 2018

For women who write their own rules.

Sherine El Itreby grew up in Cairo, and she loves every part of it. The city's smallest details and its rich history shape the way she sees, and find their way into everything she makes.

Clothes, fabrics and art have been her passion since she was very young. She studied tourism, but the pull to express herself through textiles never left. In March 2018 she gave it a home: SE Designs, a brand she thinks of as her third child.

For Sherine, a wardrobe with a story to tell is one that lets you express who you are. She hopes to inspire others to follow their dreams and express themselves, through what they wear or anything else they love.

“Your style is your story. Wear it your way.”

01 · Drawn by hand

The prints start on paper

Most SE prints begin as Sherine's own drawings, refined detail by detail until they are right through her eyes.

Shiraz Red: tote in a red Persian-carpet design with wooden handles

02 · Inspired by Cairo

Heritage, nature, music

She finds inspiration everywhere: her city's heritage, nature, architecture, music and feelings. The names of her pieces come from the same places.

Bambi: extra-large velvet tote in a brown fawn-spot print with brown handles

03 · Made in Egypt

Every piece, made here

Created in her home studio and made entirely in Egypt with local workshops, and with artisans who hold the craft when a design calls for it.
